THE TUNNEL

An investigation into a government cover-up leads to a network of abandoned train tunnels deep beneath the heart of Sydney. As a journalist and her crew hunt for the story it quickly becomes clear the story is hunting them.

The Tunnel is Australia’s first entirely crowdfunded movie, made by selling each of the 135,000 frames of the film for $1 each at www.thetunnelmovie.net. In a controversial move, the film was released for free online AT THE SAME TIME as traditional methods of release like cinema, TV, DVD and iTunes. The multiple award-winning film was also the first Australian film ever released via an iPad app, and managed to rack up over 20 million views and downloads around the globe.
